Youth Employment Training Academy (YETA)

YETA is a 25 hour job readiness training program that teaches students about work expectations, effective communication, job interview skills, and how to write a resume and cover letter. Students that successfully complete YETA will be scheduled to interview with one of our employment partners.

* Please note that hiring decisions are made by our employment partners and that employment is not guaranteed. Additional job coaching will be provided to students when needed to help them obtain employment.

To be eligible for YETA, students must be 15+ years old and meet AAA Standards:

Academics- 'C' Average in core classes
Attendance- 93% or better
Attitude- Positive, motivated, and no disciplinary referrals

Our Employment Partners

Hillside Work-Scholarship Connection partners with local employers that provide part-time employment for students with on-the-job mentoring. At work, students are exposed to various job opportunities through shadowing experiences and can be trained in multiple departments. 

Youth Advocates connect with employers monthly to discuss student performance and provide support. Our employers value education and consider school to be a student's top priority. Therefore, if a student begins to  struggle academically, his/her hours at work will decrease to allow for more time to study and attend tutoring. Once the student's grades improve, he/she can be scheduled for additional hours at work.
