• When it is taken: The PSAT is offered annually. Our next scheduled date is October 17, 2024. Juniors should plan to take the PSAT/NMSQT (Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test/ National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) if they are planning on going to a 4-year college.  It is considered a trial run for the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). Many 4-year colleges consider the SAT as optional when applying. The PSAT also allows a junior student to qualify for a scholarship from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. 
• What it covers: The PSAT tests mathematical and verbal reasoning skills as well as writing abilities through multiple-choice questions.  
• Registration: Registration is online through My Schoolbucks starting August 7 – September 5, 2024. There is a $20.00 fee.
