The Gates-Chili Transportation Department's policy does not allow children to switch buses for social reasons.

If there is an emergency and your child needs to ride a different bus, the parent must write a note of permission giving the regular bus number and the one he/she wishes to ride, as well as the address where the child will be dropped off. In addition, the child must have the note approved in the school office.

Also, if a child is riding his/her regular bus, but needs to get off at a different stop, a note must be written and given to the bus driver.
