Athletic Placement Process is a New York State Education Department (NYSED) program that permits physically and emotionally appropriate students to try out for an athletic team that is outside of their grade placement. It is commonly referred to as APP.

In order to be considered for the APP, the varsity coach for the program must recommend your athlete to be tested through the use of Appendix D in the APP (listed below) to the Director of Physical Education, Health and Athletics.

Before testing all athletes, parents must submit the Parent Permission Form to the Director of Physical Education, Health and Athletics. 

All students placed on a high school roster (approved through APP process) will be subject to all NYSPHSAA rules and regulations.
