Meet Mrs. Christensen

  •

Hi everyone!  I am very excited to begin my eighth year teaching at Brasser and my thirteenth year of teaching.  I'm looking forward to continuing to work with the amazing children and families of this community.

I grew up in Chili and am a graduate of the Gates Chili School District.  I went to SUNY Geneseo where I studied and became certified to teach Childhood Education (Grades 1-6) and Students with Disabilities (Grades 1-6).  I completed my Masters Degree in Childhood Education & Literacy through the University at Albany.

Throughout my career I have had the opportunity to work with a variety of grade levels and in various settings.  I worked in the Gates Chili School District from 2007-2009 as a consultant teacher K-3, and then taught fourth grade.  I went to teach in the East Rochester School District for three years where I taught fourth grade as a special education teacher in an integrated co-taught classroom.  I returned to Gates Chili in 2012 where I taught fifth grade for six years.  This will be my second year in fourth grade at Brasser!

My husband and I live with Chili with our two little boys, Josh and Zach.  You might catch us at the parks, zoo, museums or even Wegmans!  We are always out and about.

Teaching is truly my passion and I am eager to continue to share this passion with the children at Brasser!

Please feel free contact me anytime with your questions or comments.  Email is always the best way to get a hold of me.  I deeply value home/school communication.  I look forward to the successful year we will have together! :)
