About the Teacher
My name is Penny Smith and I teach art at Paul Road School. I currently live in Churchville with my , husband and 2 dogs. I also have 2 sons, One is a Structural Engineer and lives in East Rochester, the other has just graduated with his masters from RIT. I have a stepdaughter and a grand-daughter who live in Hilton.
I grew up in Hilton, N. Y. where I graduated from Hilton Central High School with majors in math, science, graphic design /photography. After graduation, I attended Northern Michigan University in Marquette, Michigan and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Photography.
Upon returning to the Rochester area, I began working in the photography field at a number of places including Eastman Kodak, A&R Color Labs and as manager of the Custom Black and White Lab for Instant Photo. Taking a break from photography, I worked to become a senior advertising artist for the advertising department at Wegmans. While working at Wegmans I returned to Nazareth College and earned a Masters of Science in Art K-12 and Elementary Education. Since then I have worked as an art teacher at Churchville Chili Middle School, Gates Chili Middle School, Florence Brasser, Washington Irving and Paul Road School. I look forward to continuing my career with your children here at Paul Road.
Sincerely, Penny Smith
