What is a Summary?
A Summary is the most important ideas about a selection you have read, written in clear, concise sentences.
How to write a summary:
Your topic sentence should be a clear statement of the main idea of the entire selection.
Stick to the essential information, names, dates, times, places and similar facts. For example, descriptions and adjectives are not usually included.
Try to state each important idea in one clear sentence.
Arrange your ideas in a logical order.
Use a concluding sentence to tie all your points together and bring your summary to an end.
